COG
The Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) was a supranational union on the planet Sera. Headquartered in the Tyran capital of Ephyra, the COG comprised almost every nation on the planet prior to Emergence Day.

Locust
The Locust Horde was a race of reptilian humanoids that until Emergence Day, appears to have remained in the subterranean regions of Sera. The Locust Horde has decided that its secondary goal is the extermination of the human race down to every man, woman, and child. The Locust Horde's primary goal is to populate the surface of Sera. The Locust wage a tactically beneficial war of genocide against the Humans due to the existence of a civil war between the Locust Horde and the Lambent Locust. This civil war has been going on for an undetermined amount of time, and is gradually forcing the Locust out of the Hollow and into a war with humanity over who controls the surface world.
Lambent
The Lambent, or 'glowies' (as the Serans call them), refer to a mutated variant of the Locust, created from prolonged exposure to Imulsion. There have only been eight breeds of Lambent shown so far. The Lambent share some of the same technology, armor and weapons with the Locust. Most Lambent differ in behavior, appearance, strength, and death from their Locust counterparts. The Lambent were first seen by the COG as Lambent Wretches, and later Lambent Drones fighting the Locust in what seems to be some sort of civil war for control of the Hollow. They have the ability to transform in mid battle, after taking several hits. These Lambent are still able to be killed, though they are liable to explode after death, or explode when they want to. The explosion might be remotely detonated by the Lambent form and not automatically activated.
